Chinese Viburnums, 29 April 2005

These bushes bloom twice a year, in the spring and again in the fall. They have huge inflorescences of white boooms that can be seen for a great distance. Despite being defoliated by a rapacious herd of local deer (rats with hooves), they bounced back and produced this ostentatious display this spring. When fully grown, they will be about 6 ft tall. Below one of the bushes is shown and a close-up of an individual flower head. These plants were purchased from Architectural Trees (now closed) in Bahama, NC.
